Lori's book was a great book. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. I encourage every adult who feels like giving up or feels stuck to get this book immediately. As I reflect on Lori's journey, I think back to my own journey. We had similar experiences. What I loved about Lori's book is that she reminded me and every little girl out there, that there's always hope. It's never too late to go for your dreams no matter what or who is holding you back. With every injury, every set back, every hardship, we keep moving forward because it's in our nature. We never give up because we look at our own children and realize that they are following in our footsteps. We are setting examples for them. When I look at my own girls, I think; what do I want them to see me doing? What do I want them to learn from me every single day? My grandpa used to say "this world is rough, you got to be tough!" Keep fighting, keep standing tall for what you believe in, and keep moving forward.
Lori Vollkommer’s Broken to Unbreakable is a powerful testament to resilience, courage, and the human spirit. Her journey of turning setbacks into comebacks will inspire anyone who’s ever faced adversity and wondered if they could rise again. Lori reminds us that true strength is found not in avoiding life’s challenges, but in growing through them. I’m grateful to have met and worked with her at my adult gymnastics camps, and I’ll be cheering her on as her journey continues.
As the owner of Atlantic Gymnastics Training Centers and Gym Momentum Consulting, with experience coaching athletes worldwide—from beginners to Olympic medalists—I’ve learned one universal truth: every gymnast must learn how to fail—and then succeed. Lori Vollkommer’s story, embodied in Broken to Unbreakable, is a powerful testament to perseverance, dedication, and the transformative power of love. Her journey from adversity to triumph is both inspiring and heartfelt, reminding us all that even in our darkest moments, resilience and passion can lead to an incredible comeback.
This book highlights the extraordinary recovery of an athlete whose commitment to healing was matched only by her passion for gymnastics. Returning to high-level activity later in life requires both physical discipline and remarkable inner resilience, and Lori demonstrated both every step of the way. Following her ACL repair, her progress was fueled by patience, persistence, and trust in both the recovery process and the pioneering surgical innovations that made her return possible. Her story reminds us of the body’s capacity to adapt and overcome at any age, especially when guided by modern approaches to ligament preservation. We are proud to celebrate her journey back to the sport that continues to inspire her.
